While European markets remain shuttered for Easter Monday, Asian stocks resumed trading and mostly struggled
It was a relatively downbeat day for Asian stocks, with trading volumes light following the Easter weekend. China's Shanghai Composite fell 0.7%, and South Korea's Kospi edged 0.06% lower.
However, Japan's Nikkei broke from the trend, gaining 0.8% as a weaker yen boosted exporters. Hong Kong's Hang Seng was still closed for holiday, and European markets also remain shuttered.
