GDP data will be in focus next week, as will a number of Fed speeches and earnings from retailers
The Fed will be front and center on next week's economic calendar, with a raft of regional Fed presidents scheduled to give speeches in the wake of
Wednesday's hawkish minutes from the central bank's April meeting. Capping it all off, Fed Chair Janet Yellen will speak on Friday -- which is also when highly anticipated gross domestic product (GDP) data will be released.
Meanwhile, the earnings calendar slows down significantly, with just a handful of high-profile names set to report results.
Retail earnings will continue to dominate, though, with reports from retailers like Best Buy Co Inc (NYSE:BBY) and
Tiffany & Co. (NYSE:TIF) due. A handful of solar stocks could also move on earnings.
Below is a brief list of some key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All earnings dates listed below are tentative and subject to change. Please check with each company's respective website for official reporting dates.
