TASR, TXMD, and FRSH stocks are making notable moves on the charts today
The Dow continues to surge following this morning's jobs data. Among specific equities on the move this afternoon are stun-gun stock Axon Enterprise Inc (NASDAQ:TASR) -- formerly TASER International -- women's health issue TherapeuticsMD Inc (NYSEMKT:TXMD), and take-and-bake pizza company Papa Murphy's. Here's a quick look at what's moving shares of TASR, TXMD, and FRSH.
TASR Changes Name, Offers Free Body Cameras
After surging out of the gate, TASR stock was last seen 1.2% lower at $21.73. The shares are moving after the company announced it's changing its name to Axon Enterprise Inc, and that it's providing free body cameras to police officers across the country as part of a newfound focus on software. Despite today's drop, the stock still boasts a 16% 52-week lead, as well as a Schaeffer's Volatility Index (SVI) of 26%. This reading is just 3 percentage points from a 12-month low, meaning low volatility expectations are priced into near-term TASR options.
TherapeuticsMD Stock Rises After Trial Results
TXMD is up 5.9% at $8.06 today, after the company last night announced positive trial data for its hot flash treatment. The shares have been rising fast in recent weeks, gaining 28% since the end of February. The brokerage bunch is certainly hopeful. At the moment, all five analysts covering TherapeuticsMD Inc say it's a "strong buy."
FRSH Stock Burns Short Sellers
FRSH is another stock that's been strong in recent weeks. With a 5.9% gain today to trade at $5.60, the shares are now up 32% in the past week, now on pace for their first close above the 200-day moving average since September 2015. This price action is terrible news for the numerous traders shorting FRSH stock. Over one-quarter of Papa Murphy's Holdings Inc's float is sold short, which equates to four weeks' worth of buying power, based on average daily volumes.
