LULU and KORS stocks will be in focus after earnings
Even with markets closed on Monday for Memorial Day, and with most prominent earnings releases behind us, next week's schedule is anything but slow. The economic calendar will heat up in the middle of the week, and will be punctuated by the highly anticipated May jobs report. Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co (NYSE: HPE), Lululemon Athletica inc. (NASDAQ:LULU), and Michael Kors Holdings Ltd (NYSE:KORS) highlight the notable earnings releases.
Below is a brief list of some key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All earnings dates listed below are tentative and subject to change. Please check with each company's respective website for official reporting dates.
On Monday, May 29, U.S. markets will be closed in observance of Memorial Day.
On Tuesday, May 30, the week kicks off with personal income and spending data, the monthly Case-Shiller home price index, and consumer confidence data. Zoe’s Kitchen (ZOES) and Lands’ End (LE) will report earnings.
On Wednesday, May 31, the Chicago purchasing manager’s index (PMI) and pending home sales data will be released, as well as the Fed’s Beige Book. San Francisco Fed President John Williams will speak in the evening. Analog Devices (ADI), Box (BOX), Daktronics (DAKT), HPE, KORS, Palo Alto Networks (PANW), Semtech (SMTC), Vera Bradley (VRA) and will report earnings.
Thursday, June 1, marks a busy start to the new month. Motor vehicle sales, the monthly Automatic Data Processing (ADP) private-sector employment update, weekly jobless claims, productivity and labor costs, the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) manufacturing index, construction spending, and the holiday-delayed update on crude inventories will all be released. Broadcom (AVGO), Ciena (CIEN), Dollar General (DG), Express (EXPR), lululemon athletica (LULU), Mobileye (MBLY), VMware (VMW), and Zumiez (ZUMZ) report earnings.
Wrapping the short week up on
Friday, June 2, will be the highly anticipated nonfarm payrolls report and unemployment figures for May. Hovnanian Enterprises (HOV) and ReneSola (SOL) will close out the week with their earnings reports.
