The Dow put in a strong showing once again, ending the day 369 points higher. Across all 12 options exchanges, 10.7 million calls crossed, compared to 10.2 million puts. The day's put/call volume ratio closed at 0.95
Commodity stocks exploded higher today, leading call buyers to bet on extended gains from names such as Halliburton Company (NYSE:HAL), Seadrill Ltd (NYSE:SDRL), and Arch Coal Inc (NYSE:ACI). Workday Inc (NYSE:WDAY) call volume ran at 13 times the norm, after the shares recovered from an early post-earnings tumble.
For puts, PVH Corp (NYSE:PVH) saw the contracts cross at six times the norm after earnings. Elsewhere, puts on big-cap software firm Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL) changed hands at three times the pace normally seen.
