JPMorgan, Citigroup, and Wells Fargo will report
The economic calendar is relatively quiet next week, though traders will digest some inflation data, as well as import and export prices. Earnings season will start to heat up, with Dow member
Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc (NASDAQ:WBA) reporting. In addition, several banks will step into the earnings confessional, including
JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE:JPM) and
Citigroup Inc (NYSE:C).
Below is a brief list of some key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All earnings dates listed below are tentative and subject to change. Please check with each company's respective website for official reporting dates.
Monday, Oct. 8, is Columbus Day, but U.S. stock markets will be open. There are no economic or earnings reports slated for release.
The economic calendar remains bare on Tuesday, Oct. 9, but Chicago Fed President Charles Evans and New York Fed President John Williams will speak. Helen of Troy (HELE) will report earnings.
On Wednesday, Oct. 10, traders will digest the producer price index (PPI). Evans will speak again, as will Atlanta Fed President Raphael Bostic. Fastenal (FAST) will report earnings.
Thursday, Oct. 11, features the consumer price index (CPI), weekly jobless claims, and the weekly crude inventories report. The Treasury budget and Fed balance sheet will also be released. Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) will get the blue-chip earnings ball rolling.
Friday, Oct. 12, will bring us the latest import and export prices, as well as data on consumer sentiment. Evans and Bostic will speak once again. JPMorgan Chase (JPM) will report earnings, as will fellow banking giants Citigroup (C), PNC Financial (PNC), and Wells Fargo (WFC).
