GDP Data, Big-Name Earnings on Deck

Visa and Microsoft are on the earnings docket next week

Earnings season continues full speed ahead, with no fewer than 10 blue chips slated to report. Included in the list of Dow names reporting earnings next week are Coca-Cola (KO), Caterpillar (CAT), Procter & Gamble (PG), and Visa (V). Also on deck will be a handful of big-name retail, food, and social media giants, including Starbucks (SBUX), Facebook (FB), Twitter (TWTR), Snap (SNAP), and Amazon (AMZN). The highly anticipated  gross domestic product (GDP) report is scheduled as well, set to debut on Friday.

Below is a brief list of some key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All earnings dates listed below are tentative and subject to change. Please check with each company's respective website for official reporting dates.

The Chicago Fed National Activity index and existing home sales data will be released on Monday, April 22, while Baidu.com (BIDU), Halliburton (HAL), Kimberly-Clark (KMB) Steel Dynamics (STLD), Whirlpool (WHR), and Wynn Resorts (WYNN) will report earnings.

On Tuesday, April 23, new home sales, the Richmond Fed manufacturing survey, and the FHFA home price index data will surface. Earnings are in full swing on Tuesday, with blue-chips Coca-Cola (KO), Procter & Gamble (PG), United Technologies (UTX), and Verizon (VZ) set to report.

Also expected are results from Centene (CNC), eBay (EBAY), Equifax (EFX), Fifth Third (FITB), Harley-Davidson (HOG), Hasbro (HAS), iRobot (IRBT), JetBlue (JBLU), Lockheed Martin (LMT), Quest Diagnostics (DGX), Sherwin-Williams (SHW), Snap (SNAP), TD Ameritrade (AMTD), Texas Instruments (TXN), and Twitter (TWTR).

MBA mortgage applications are due Wednesday, April 24, as well as weekly crude inventories. Earnings will bring Dow names Boeing (BA), Caterpillar (CAT), Microsoft (MSFT), and Visa (V). Also on deck will be Facebook (FB), Allegiant (ALGT), AT&T (T), Biogen (BIIB), Boston Beer (SAM), Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG), Domino's Pizza (DPZ), F5 Networks (FFIV), First Solar (FSLR), PayPal (PYPL), Spirit Airlines (SAVE), and Tesla (TSLA).

For Thursday, April 25, weekly jobless claims, durable goods orders, the Kansas City Fed manufacturing index, and the Fed's balance sheet are scheduled. For earnings, 3M (MMM), Intel (INTC), Amazon (AMZN), AbbVie (ABBV), Bristol-Meyers (BMY), Cleveland-Cliffs (CLF), Comcast (CMCSA), Dunkin' (DNKN), Ford (F), Freeport-McMoRan (FCX), GrubHub (GRUB), Mattel (MAT), Raytheon (RTN), Southwest Airlines (LUV), Starbucks (SBUX), United Parcel Service (UPS), and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) will report.

GDP data will headline Friday, April 26, though consumer sentiment data is also anticipated. In the realm of earnings, Chevron (CVX), Exxon Mobil (XOM), American Airlines (AAL), Archer Daniels Midlands (ADM), Cabot Oil & Gas (COG), and Sony (SNE) will share results.
