Walmart, Canada Goose, and J C Penney will report
The Federal Reserve will be in focus next week, with a handful of speeches from central bank officials -- namely Fed Chair Jerome Powell -- on tap, along with a pair of key inflation updates. The retail sector will also be on Wall Street's radar, with earnings from several retailers, including Walmart (WMT), starting to roll in ahead of the critical holiday shopping season. Weed stocks could also see heavier-than-usual interest, with cannabis concerns Tilray (TLRY) and Canopy Growth (CGC) slated to unveil quarterly results.

It's Veterans Day on Monday, Nov. 11, and while the bond market is closed, the stock market is open. The economic calendar is bare, but earnings from Amicus Therapeutics (FOLD), Flotek Industries (FTK), and Tidewater (TDW) are due.
Philadelphia Fed President Patrick Harker and Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari are slated to speak on Tuesday, Nov. 12. Advance Auto Parts (AAP), CBS Corp (CBS), D. R. Horton (DHI), Luckin Coffee (LK), Overstock.com (OSTK), Tyson Foods (TSN), Skyworks Solutions (SWKS), SmileDirectClub (SDC), Tilray (TLRY), and YY (YY) will report earnings.
Wednesday, Nov. 13, brings the latest consumer price index (CPI), as well as a speech from Fed Chair Jerome Powell. Another speech from Kashkari and the Treasury budget are also on tap. Cisco Systems (CSCO), Beazer Homes (BZH), Energizer (ENR), Canada Goose (GOOS), Meritor (MTOR), NetApp (NTAP), Stratasys (SSYS), and Vipshop (VIPS) will report earnings.
It's a busy day on Thursday, Nov. 14, with weekly jobless claims, the producer price index (PPI), the Fed's balance sheet, and the holiday-delayed weekly crude inventories update slated for release. Additionally, Chicago Fed President Charles Evans and New York Fed President John Williams will take the stage. Walmart (WMT), Applied Materials (AMAT), Canopy Growth (CGC), International Game Technology (IGT), Nvidia (NVDA), SINA (SINA), and Weibo (WB) will step into the earnings confessional.
Retail sales, the Empire State manufacturing index, import and export prices, and business inventories will hit on Friday, Nov. 15. J C Penney (JCP) and JD.com (JD) will report earnings.
