Retail stocks Target and Home Depot will report earnings
Even with earnings season coming to a close, there's still a good bit of economic data and earnings reports for investors to pore over. More specifically, investors will be focusing on notable housing data, which will come in the form of the NAHB home builders index, as well as housing starts. The Federal Open Market Committee's (FOMC) latest meeting minutes are due out mid-week, while a fresh batch of jobless claims data will close out the week. The earnings docket will include a few noteworthy retail names, including Home Depot (HD), Kohl's (KSS), Lowe's (LOW), Target (TGT), and Foot Locker (FL).

Monday, August 17, will start the week with the NAHB home builders index and the Empire State manufacturing index. Meanwhile, Fabrinet (FN), JD.com (JD), and Wibo (WB) will step into the earnings confessional.
Economic data featured on Tuesday, August 18 includes housing starts and building permits. On the earnings end, Home Depot, Walmart (WMT), Advance Auto Parts (AAP), Cree (CREE), Kohl's, La-Z-Boy (LZB), and Nvidia (NVDA) are on tap.
